  May 24, 2007 Kroger Workers in Toledo, Chicago Authorize a Strike Last night, members of UFCW Local 911 voted to allow the bargaining committee and the Union negotiators the authority to call a strike if necessary. Meanwhile, members of UFCW Local 1546 working at four Kroger stores in the Chicago area and Kroger workers represented by Houston's Locals 455 and 408 also voted to authorize a strike if needed. UFCW members voted in overwhelming approval of the authorization in all three areas.
