Toledo Bargaining Resumes, Little Progress Made

Negotiations resumed on Friday, March 9, with very little progress made. The Local 911 negotiating committee continued to press the company to make positive changes in these negotiations. UFCW members also pointed out to the company that the double digit lead that Kroger enjoys in the Toledo market share is directly related to the people who work at Kroger.

The company stood by their proposals to eliminate overtime for any hours , (unless over 40 in a week), allow for unlimited stocking by vendors, allow meat wrappers and clerks to operate saws in the meat department, and restrict part-timers scheduling .

While there was a full day of discussions, and a couple of minor non-economic issues were resolved, the Company still fails to see the value in most of the UFCW members' proposals. More negotiation sessions are scheduled for March 15th, March 20th , and March 27th .
