California Updates for Stater Bros, Albertsons, Ralphs,
and Vons
STATER BROTHERS
On January 17th, UFCW members from six locals in
Southern California, approved a new three year contract
with Stater Brothers supermarkets. The agreement
eliminates the two tier wage, significantly increases
Health and Pension trust fund contributions by the
company and raises wages by $1.25 over 3 years.
This sets a precedent for negotiations in the weeks ahead. If Stater Brothers can afford to offer a fair contract that respects grocery workers, so can Albertsons, Ralphs and Vons.
Representatives from all seven UFCW locals in Southern California will be present at the bargaining table for all scheduled negotiations detailed below:
ALBERTSONS
Four meetings have taken place with representatives from
Albertsons over the past three weeks. The next meeting
is scheduled for Friday, February 15th.
RALPHS
The first meeting with Ralphs took place on Monday,
February 5th. The next meeting will be scheduled soon.
VONS
The first meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February
12th.
