Houston Workers Negotiating Health Care with Kroger

Negotiations between UFCW Locals 455 and 408 and the Kroger Company continued throughout this last weekend.

Both sides are attempting to work out future costs of health insurance as one part of an economic package to replace the current contract, which originally expired in March but has been extended by both parties through negotiations. After a late session on Sunday night, UFCW Local 455 President William Hopkins said, "The employer came a bit our way on the health benefits, but we have some distance to go. We'll be using the next sessions to try and further negotiate a whole health care package."

The next scheduled dates are set for May 14th through May 20th.
