Oregon Members Ask Employers to
"Share the Success"
Members of Local 555 are continuing negotiations with their employers in
Eugene, and are standing strong to send their employers a message.
Members know that these same companies agreed to quality, affordable health
care in Southern California and Puget Sound--what makes Eugene employees so
different?
UFCW members simply want a
preventative health care plan that they can afford--one that will end up
saving them AND their employers' money. But their employers seem to
think that UFCW members aren't worth that kind of plan.
Local 555 members work hard
for their stores, and have helped them become some of the most successful in
the industry. All they're asking for is those employers to share the
success with them. And to show that they're standing together in
solidarity with other members and with the community behind them, Local 555
members have authorized a strike if necessary.
The negotiations are set for the 19th and 20th.
