Cincinnati Workers and Supporters Rally by the Thousands

Cincinnati workers are tired of Kroger's greedy tactics, and last night they and thousands of labor and communities allies, shoppers, and other supporter rallied to send the message to Kroger to share the success with workers and communities.  Teamsters, religious leaders, politicians, workers, and shoppers gathered in Fountain Square to chide Kroger for failing to agree to a fair contract.

The over 10,000 workers who could strike as early as today wouldn't be the only ones missing from stores; many loyal Kroger customers have signed petitions and have told Kroger workers they will support them and stay out of Kroger supermarkets during any potential strike.

“No way am I going to shop at Kroger if there’s a strike,” said Denise Penn, a 36-year-old College Hill resident and teacher at Douglass School in Walnut Hills. “We union members have to look out for each other.”
