Toledo Workers Fight for A Fair Contract

Who:
UFCW
Local 911 members in Toledo, Ohio

What:
Members are negotiating a new contract with Kroger Co. The contract expired, then was extended, but how now been terminated by the union.  At the suggestion of the Federal Mediator, there is currently an week-by- week contract extension.

When:
Bargaining Committee members will continue talks with Kroger this week.

What's At Stake:
Members are looking for a contract that provides wages that pay the bills, quality, affordable health care coverage and a secure retirement for all workers.
Members know that Kroger is an extremely successful company, with a double digit market share lead in the Toledo area, and that much of the company's success is due to Kroger employees. With the climbing profits that Kroger has been posting quarterly, members feel that Kroger can afford to treat its employees as the valuable business asset that they are, and compensate them fairly.
