12. 700 UFCW
Locals 455 and 408 members in the Houston, Texas area, and about 700 Local 540 meatcutters in the Dallas area

What:
Members have reached a tentative contract agreement with Kroger...more details on the contract to follow soon.

When:
Workers will vote on whether to ratify the contract agreement this weekend.

What's At Stake:
Members are looking for a contract that provides wages that pay the bills, quality, affordable health care coverage and a secure retirement for all workers.
Members know that Kroger is an extremely successful company, and that much of the company's success is due to Kroger employees. With the climbing profits that Kroger has been posting quarterly, members feel that Kroger can afford to treat its employees as the valuable business asset that they are, and compensate them fairly.
