Montana Workers are Standing Together for Respect

Who:  UFCW members of Locals 4 and 8 in Montana

What: Members are tired of being treated like second class citizens by Albertsons' (Supervalu) and Safeway, and have been working without a contract for months as the company continues to stall in negotiations. Members have voted to authorize a strike, if necessary, and have also voted to refuse the latest, seriously lacking contract offer from Albertsons.

When:
Members have been bargaining with Supervalu and Safeway since October.

What's At Stake:
Supervalu and Safeway want members to accept bonuses rather than wage increases, even though for two contracts and over more than a six year period, Montana members have only received a total of forty cents per hour in wage increases! Montana grocery workers are fed up. They have not been able to keep up with inflation or the cost of living, even in a rural state like Montana.
