Oregon Workers Stand Strong for Good Jobs
Your Bargaining Committee

Who:
Members of UFCW Local 555 in Eugene, Oregon

What:
Members are fighting for affordable, quality health care, a living wage, and a secure retirement for all workers.

When:
UFCW members of Local 555 began negotiations with Kroger, Safeway, and Supervalu in March, but negotiations are progressing very slowly.

What's At Stake:
The employers have focused on their need to be more competitive in the market. In order to do this the employers have stated that they need a less restrictive contract as well as economic relief if they are to fund health care, pension and provide wage increases for “current employees.” Many of the proposed relief measures are would make it impossible for employees to earn a wage they and their families could live on.
