UFCW Local 400 and Local 27 Members Ratify Fair Contract

Members of UFCW Local 400 and Local 27 in the Baltimore, Washington, DC area overwhelmingly voted today to ratify a fair contract with Giant and Safeway.

Thanks to members' strength and solidarity, as well as community and national support, the companies and their employees were able to agree on a contract fair and beneficial to both.  The new 4 year contract includes:

  • quality, affordable health care
  • 1.50 wage increases over 4 years
  • Secured pension fund
  • advanced scheduling to assist parents in better planning for child care and school events, as well as other personal employee events

When UFCW members stand together, they really are more powerful.  And together with their supporters, Local 27 and Local 400 members have proved this by sticking together for a fair contract for all.

It is so nice to know we are in your thoughts. I truly believed that  we wouldn't have to go though what we went through four years ago.

Alhold 's last quarter was up by 9.2%. Who got them there ? I think  that would be us. Well, tomorrow if we have great influx of case ready  meat .THAT COULD BE A BAD SIGN. Once again I feel the Love,Thanks
