Kentucky/Indiana Members Reach Tentative Agreement with Kroger

Local 227 reached won victory when they reached a tentative agreement on a new contract--one that covers nearly 11k workers in Kentucky and southern Indiana. Local 227 was able to secure the future of their pension plan and health insurance fund. The agreement also improves health care benefits for PT workers.

Local 227  has scheduled a ratification vote for April 15th at 37 voting locations.

Local 227 is fighting to improve health insurance coverage for all workers. The Local 227 negotiating committee has made achieving affordable, quality health care that covers more workers sooner, a priority in this round of negotiations. Local 227 is committed to reaching a fair agreement that improves jobs, creates more opportunities and allows workers to share in the unprecedented success of the Kroger company. The quality of life of the over 11,000 local 227 members who work at Kroger is at stake in these negotiations and the solidarity of our UFCW brothers and sisters across the country is vital in this fight for a fair and honorable contract.
