UFCW Locals 27 and 400 meeting details for
April 1, 2008.
Local 400- Giant
Giant has decided to close its stores from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM on April 1 to
allow all UFCW Local 400 members the opportunity to attend the scheduled
meeting.
D.C. Armory
2001 East Capital Street (Opposite the RFK Stadium - Stadium/Armory Metro
Stop)
Washington, DC
Registration begins at 11:00 AM
Meeting begins at 12:00 PM
In order to expedite check-in at the April 1 meeting, pre-registration cards
have been mailed out this week. Please remember to bring your
pre-registration card to the meeting for immediate access. If you did not
receive a pre-registration card you can still register the day of the
meeting on site.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING!
· Note A: Free Parking in Lot #3
· Note B: The D.C. Armory is a Federal Institution which requires security
screening upon entering. In order to make entry and registration as
effective as possible DO NOT bring any of the following: Drinks, Food,
Weapons, ex: box cutters, knives, etc.
Local 400- Safeway
Safeway has decided that it will not be closing its stores on April 1.
However, all UFCW Local 400 members wishing to attend the scheduled meeting
may request to be scheduled accordingly.

The final week of negotiations resumed on Tuesday, April 25th.
Last week's talks have produced little movement on such key issues as:
- Health and Welfare
- Pension
- Wages.
