Local 400 and Local 27 Members are Standing in Solidarity for Higher Wages, Health Care

Local 400 members are currently in negotiations with Giant and Safeway. Those negotiations began February 13 and 14, 2008.  Members are pushing for living wages, quality, affordable health care, and guarantees on technology issues like self-checkout lanes. 

Members are standing strong and in solidarity with their brothers and sisters in Local 27, who are also negotiating a contract with Giant and Safeway. 

Meetings for general membership are tentatively scheduled for the morning of April 1, 2008 at the D.C. National Guard Armory. Details will be mailed to members prior to the meeting.
